At the heart of every retail business is the story of an entrepreneur , even in the larger chain retailers. Each store level manager needs to treat their store and their own business. 

Being a fan of the television show Dragons Den ( CBC Television: Dragons Den Website ) , I was very interested in reading this book.

If you have not watched any of the episodes from the Dragons Den, I would suggest viewing a couple online , as the first part of this book makes many references to the show. Without watching at least one episode of the show , this material may not impact you as intended.

 Further into the book , the author deals with material that we can all enjoy: the story from rags to riches. He also deals with issues ranging from salespeople and the sales process to the humanity in running a business. This book is definitely lighter than other business books I have read ( Such as Jim Collins: Good to Great) , which makes it an easier read. With that being said , this book does not lack in practical , applicable information for anyone looking for a fresh perspective in their business.

Challenging , informative and practical , this is a book I recommend to anyone involved in business whether is be sales, ownership, management or at the employee level.
