| "I selected CRS and Retail Pro because I believed I would get great support and I haven't been disappointed. I find the Help technicians to be helpful, personable, friendly - I feel like I know them, even though I've only met one in person. What would make me happier? Not much: shorter wait times on the phone and getting the one technician who seems less knowledgeable up to speed. But generally speaking, I love you guys - you're doing a great job and I am really comfortable with our decision to go with CRS/Retail Pro." -Elizabeth |

Title: Poke the Box
Author: Seth Godin
Reviewed By: Shawn Dillon
“The relentless brainwashing of our fading industrial economy has created an expensive misunderstanding. Creative people or those with something to say believe that they have to wait to be chosen.”
“Most employees can give you a long list of all the things they’re not allowed to do… It’s interesting that the allowed list is harder to remember and write down.”
These quotes give you a pretty good idea of the direction this book is headed. While the content may not be groundbreaking for some, it is still nice to be reminded of some of his core principles.Within your company , the impact that this book can have is quite substantial. The problem with the implementing this book , is that most companies run on the supression of initative. If you actually do what this book states, you will need to be willing to empower everyone to make the decisions that are best for your customers.
This book also addresses the issue of failure, and what failure reflects to an employee within your company. Do you view failure as something good , in that at least an attempt was made, or is failure not an option? If it is not an option, than this book would suggest that neither is initative.
At less than 120 pages, this book is a quick , read that will cause anyone to stop and pause in the way they do business.
